Sonos rarely discounts its Play:5 speaker, but right now you can grab one for $40 less

Right now you can pick up the Sonos Play:5 speaker for just $459 at Amazon, which is a savings of $40. It's not very often that we see discounts on the largest speaker in the Sonos lineup, so when we do you should definitely grab one. The last time we saw a discount on this speaker was back in January, and currently Sonos sells open-box versions for the same price.

Being the largest speaker that the company makes, the Play:5 features six amplifiers and six dedicated drivers to help give you room-filling sound, even in bigger spaces. It has wireless streaming capabilities to play music from services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and more, and can be easily controlled from the free mobile or desktop app. The wireless features of the speaker also allow for Sonos to continually push features as OTA updates to it, so you don't need to worry about it becoming obsolete right after you purchase it.

Earlier this year, Sonos added support for Amazon's Alexa, which allows you to use something like the Echo Dot to being playback of music on your Sonos equipment using just your voice.

You can pair this Play:5 with other speakers, like the currently-discounted Sonos One to play music through your whole home with ease. Sonos allows you to play the same tunes on all speakers, or change it up for each speaker if you wish. Odds are these discounts won't be around for long, so don't miss out.
