Google adds a splash of Material Design to movie searches on Android

It looks like searching for movies on your Android device got quite the visual refresh today. Google has added a splash of color, along with a scrolling list of titles represented by their promotional posters when searching for movies involving a specific actor or director.

After tapping on one of the titles, users are presented with a card that shows off stats about the movie, such as release date and running time, as well as a brief description and ratings from IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic. Additionally, you'll also have quick access to places to stream and purchase the particular movie you're perusing.

Overall, the Material Design inspired refresh is fluid, intuitive, and easy on the eyes. We had a lot of fun just playing around with different movie searches while testing it out. Google says that the refresh is currently rolling out on Search, so you should be able to check it out for yourself soon, if not now.
