How to get started with Apple Music on Android

Apple doesn't often offer its services on Android, but for Apple Music, it made an exception. After all, it's hard to be a music service without being available on the most widely-used mobile platform in the world. Whether you're an Apple fan who stepped away from the iPhone or an Android enthusiast who wants to see if Apple Music can compete, Apple Music is easy to get started with, even without an Apple device.

How to subscribe to Apple Music

Once you've downloaded the Apple Music Android app, it's time to sign up and get your music on.

  1. Open Apple Music.
  2. Tap Try it free.
  3. Tap the plan that's right for you.
  4. Tap Start Trial.

  1. If you already have an Apple account, tap Use Existing Apple ID, log into your account, and proceed to step 13.
  2. If you do not have an Apple account, tap Create New Apple ID.
  3. Enter the email and password for your new Apple ID.
  4. Tap Agree to Terms and Conditions.
  5. Tap Next.

  1. Enter your Personal information.
  2. Choose your Security questions.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Enter your Credit/Debit card information.

  1. Enter your Billing address.
  2. Tap Next.
  3. If you're using a newly created Apple ID, enter the verification code.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Tap Done.

  1. Tap the Genres you like.
  2. Press and hold the Genres you don't like until they disappear.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Tap the Artists you like.
  5. Tap Add an Artist to add a band you don't see but want.
  6. Tap Done when you have a mix of artists you like, as these artists will inform Apple's For You recommendations.

You are now free to go about your music. You can see if any of your friends are on Apple Music by giving them access to your contacts, or you can start searching for music to listen to right off the bat.
