Galaxy S5 lands in Japan, including shiny pink version (updated)

Not sold on the white, black, blue or gold versions of the Galaxy S5? If you're living in Japan, today is your lucky day, as NTT Docomo has just unveiled a pink color variant of the Galaxy S5. The device will be offered alongside the more mainstream white and black color variations.

Other cosmetic alterations include the NTT Docomo branding at the front, and Galaxy S branding just beneath the camera lens instead of the Samsung logo we've seen on other versions. The Samsung logo is etched at the bottom along with the model number (SC-04F).

NTT Docomo's version of the Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, which means a 2.5 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, microSD card slot to expand storage to 128 GB, 16 MP ISOCELL camera, 2 MP front shooter, NFC, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 2800 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat on the latest TouchWiz skin.

There are carrier services thrown in as well, which include support for Docomo's Xi LTE service, VoLTE, One-Seg and NOTTV.

Samsung has similarly launched a pink version of the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2, so it is possible that this color variant will see a wider rollout. What do you think of the pink Galaxy S5? Would you be interested in owning one? Sound off in the comments below.

Update: Samsung has confirmed on its official blog that the pink version of the Galaxy S5 is exclusive to Japan. The blog also mentioned that in addition to the Sweet Pink version launched by NTT Docomo, there will be a Champagne Pink version of the device, which will be available on KDDI.
